What is Blessings In Disguise’s mission?

Our mission is to provide financial hardship assistance to those on unemployment compensation, workers compensation, short term disability, or FMLA. We also provide aid to our senior community in the form of durable medical equipment when turned down by their insurance provider and or lack of financial resources to purchase on their own.

Are there any other guidelines to get help for financial hardship?

The general requirements for the type of assistance that we provide.
• Do you reside in Toledo Metropolitan area including suburbs?
• Do you make more than $32,054 as an individual or as married make more than $55,000 combined?
• Are you or your spouse receiving unemployment compensation, workers compensation, or short term disability?

Do you have a non- discrimination policy?

The quick answer is YES! Blessings in Disguise Inc. does not promote or discriminate against any person, population group, or organization with regard to categories protected by applicable United States law, as well as other categories identified by Blessings In Disguise in alignment with our own Human Resources policies. These include, but are not limited to race, color, religion, sex, gender expression, physical appearance, language, education background, national origin, age, disability, and veteran status.

These activities include, but are not limited to, selection of volunteers and vendors, and provision of services to the community. Are there other ways I can contribute financially?

Yes, if you like shopping …you can help us! You can sign up at smile.amazon.com and select our charity, you can sign up for Kroger Community Rewards and select our charity, or you can sign up at igive.com and select our charity. In each case, any purchase made by you, a portion of proceeds will be given to Blessings in Disguise Inc.

How can I volunteer?

You can go to our website, fill out the contact form, and you will be put in our database of volunteers.

Do you offer Sponsorships?

Absolutely! We have various Sponsorship levels that you can sign up for at different pricing and marketing levels. Please write to sponsorships@blessingsid.org for more details.

Do you have any fundraisers?

Yes. We typically hold two major fundraisers a year. One is called Bowling For Blessings which is held in May/June time period and our Ugly Christmas Sweater Dance Fever Party held in December. We also host a “CALL TO ACTION DAY” called REPURPOSE IT FOR SENIORS where we collect new and used durable medical equipment from the community , clean it, and give it to seniors in need.
